Ingredients
- ▢2 tablespoons butter
- ▢2 tablespoons flour
- ▢2 cups low sodium chicken broth*
- ▢2 cups milk
- ▢1 teaspoon minced onion
- ▢1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- ▢8 ounces egg noodles about 4 cups
- ▢1 cup frozen peas optional
- ▢12 ounces canned tuna in water drained
- ▢1 cup crushed potato chips
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large saucepan.
- Add the flour and stir for 1 minute.
- Slowly add the chicken broth, whisking continuously.
- Stir in the milk and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Add the minced onion, black pepper, noodles and peas (if using), stir.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the noodles are soft and most of the mixture has been soaked up by the noodles.
- Stir in the tuna. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Top with crushed potato chips and serve warm.
